Forgotten Victim
Blood trickles from an open wound
spilling dreams and memories
that disintegrate when smothered
by the crisp morning air.
The victim's mind is empty
like the wallet that once held
a measly five pound note.
Two glazed eyes tattooed with shock
offer a glimpse into this victim's ordeal.
A still heart and an absent pulse
prove death.
Humanity continues to breathe
despite being an individual less.
The victim becomes forgotten
while life continues.
